Become a Member

churchEstablishing membership at RLC is a simple process.  Depending on your personal background, there are a couple of paths to follow.

If you are coming to RLC from another Lutheran congregation you can simply transfer your membership from the former congregation.  Normally a letter of transfer passes between the two.  Should you prefer that we write a letter to the congregation you are leaving, requesting the transfer of your membership, we will be happy to do that.

If you are an adult who is coming from a Christian tradition other than Lutheranism, but have been baptized in the name of Father, Son and Holy Spirit, the process is still quite simple.  Speak with the Pastor and schedule a time to organize your acceptance into membership.  There will be a brief and basic orientation to the Lutheran setting.  The name we use for this process to establish membership is Affirmation of Faith.

If you are a child who is coming to Reformation Lutheran with your parents, and you have been baptized in the name of Father, Son and Holy Spirit, your membership is accepted along with that of your parent(s).

Baptism-1

If you have not been baptized, whether a child or an adult and would like to be baptized please speak with the Pastor.  The baptism can be held during a regular worship service or it can be conducted with only you, the Pastor and a sponsor.Having been baptized in our midst, your membership at Reformation Lutheran Church is established.

Should you have any questions at all about membership, the process of becoming a member or the responsibilities of membership, please speak with the Pastor.  He will be delighted to respond to all your questions.
